Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
What is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library?
In 1995, Dolly Parton launched Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee. Dolly’s vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with a book every month. By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, Dolly wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books and reading can create.
Through funding provided by the North Carolina General Assembly for Smart Start programs, the Imagination Library is now available in our Orange County community. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mission to foster a love of reading among children from birth to five years old through the gift of a monthly book delivered right to their home–completely free!
