Healthy Starts for Infants and Toddlers Coordinator: SHAPE NC

The Orange County Partnership for Young Children seeks a full-time project coordinator to implement strategies to increase physical activity, improve nutrition, increase and support breastfeeding and enhance outdoor learning environments, in child care facilities that serve infants and toddlers. The position is responsible for training/technical assistance/coaching for child care directors and staff; project coordination; resource provision and outreach; and data collection for program evaluation. The position will work in collaboration with existing technical assistance specialists at OCPYC.

Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a BA in early childhood, public health or other related field, plus 18 hours of early childhood education OR a master’s degree plus 12 hours of early childhood education. Minimum of three to five years’ experience in providing child care quality enhancement services OR child care health education, nutrition, and or physical activity technical assistance to child care centers OR three to five years’ experience providing technical assistance to other professionals, OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a Level 11 Certification and must possess, or within the first year secure and maintain, Level 11 Early Childhood Certification with TA Endorsement. Experience with infant and toddler programs desired. Knowledge of or training experience with Be Active Kids, GO NAPSACC, and/or outdoor learning environments a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; creativity and flexibility; ability to work independently and with teams and engage effectively with community partners; technology proficiency.
