NC Pre-K Program

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak, NC Pre-K classrooms in public schools are currently CLOSED for as long as the public schools remain closed. NC Pre-K sites in private centers continue to operate for children of essential workers. Applications are currently being accepted for NC Pre-K placements for 2020-2021. The NC Pre-K Program is a program of the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) in the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The NC Pre-K Program is designed to provide high-quality educational experiences to enhance school readiness for eligible four-year-olds.
