Senior Director Position
The Orange County Partnership for Young Children seeks a senior-level professional to lead work in the areas of engagement, outreach and systems building, and policy and advocacy. The position objectives are to ensure families and the early childhood community receive timely and current information on key issues, policies, services, and resources through a robust communications and community education effort; increase leadership and engagement opportunities for families with young children, birth to five years of age, through diverse program strategies; meet the needs of young children in Orange County through effective systems-building activities and proactive partnership development; and increase the Partnership’s advocacy role in ensuring the healthy growth and development of our young children. The senior director’s responsibilities may include supervision, research, data analysis, community needs assessment, program development, grant writing, and information services and outreach. Program management in an area of expertise or interest is available.
Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, education, social work, public health, or related field; master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five years of experience working in the early childhood field, which may include the management or delivery of direct services to young children and/or parents and caregivers; the development of partnerships or coalitions to identify issues, develop strategies, and create action plans; program or policy research; training or technical assistance; outreach and advocacy work, etc. Experience with Smart Start programs desired. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; excellent writing and presentation skills; creativity and flexibility; ability to work independently and with teams and engage effectively with community partners; technology proficiency.
